First day, Salta.
Reception at the city of Salta, check-in hotel lunch. City tour and monuments. Dinner.
Second day, Salta – San Antonio de los Cobres.
We begin our trip visiting the Puna and to get there we will ascend to 3500 meters above sea level. by the Cuesta del Obispo. Lunch. We continue ascending to 4895 meters above sea level in the Abra del Acay, one of the highest road passages in the world. Before sunset and in the heart of La Puna we will stop at the town of San Antonio de los Cobres. Lodging in hostel and dinner.
Third day, San Antonio de los Cobres – San Salvador de Jujuy.
We set out to the Viaducto de la Polvorilla, a magnificent construction which leads to the Clouds Train (El Tren de las Nubes) above a quebrada at 4220 meters above sea level. We will go then to the little town of Sey, where native americans live (coyas) y continue to Susques, last significant town for those who travel to Chile. Lunch. In the afternoon we'll cross the Salinas Grandes descending by the Cuesta de Lipan to Purmamarca, the typical town of the Quebrada de Humahuaca. We'll explore its streets and finish the day in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy. Lodging in Hotel and Dinner.Fourth day, San Salvador de Jujuy - Calilegua.
By conventional routes we will get to Calilegua. From there we will enter a National Park, located in the heart of the Jungle of la Yunga. Lunch. We will trek it late before sunset and we will watch its exuberant flora and diverse fauna. Lodging in huts and dinner in Calilegua.Fifth day, Calilegua – Nueva Pompeya.
Early in the morning we will set out for along journey to the Chaco-Salteño forest as known as El Impenetrable. This forest covers a wide area of Argentina and Paraguay, little explored, almost dishabitated and with primitive communication with civilization and above all things with a lot of nature. The next human settlement we will find is Rivadavia, in the province of Salta yet and then the province of Chaco. Lunch. Due to the rains that show up, (several times there are floodings), the path may alter its traditional way but always among the rivers Teuco y Bermejito. This day ends with our arrival to Nueva Pompeya, a town founded in the year 1890 by Franciscan monks and we will lodge at their ancient Mission. Dinner.Sixth day, Nueva Pompeya - Corrientes.
The second phase inside this forest will end with our arrival at the River Paraná and to the city of Corrientes. Early in the morning our way will be to the City of Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña, the second in importance of the province of Chaco. Lunch. From there by conventional route we will complete our schedule. We will visit several town inhabitated by creoles y Wichi descendents, indians that used to dominate the region. Lodging and dinner in Corrientes.
Seventh day, Corrientes – Esteros del Ibera.
After breakfast we will begin a new phase of our trip entering the vast correntina flat land where the mysterious Esteros of the Ibera are located. We will stop in some towns located on the verge of our way, such as Itati. Lunch. After that we will get close to the Yacireta-Apipe dam, made by the rivers of the Paraná. We will get to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini by sunseti, next to the Ibera Lake. We will lodge in a tradicional posada. Dinner.Eighth day, Esteros del Ibera.
Free day to know the esteros by boat, by horse or by trekking. Lunch, Lodging and dinner at the posada.Ninth day, Esteros del Ibera - Oberá.
Today we will enter in the final phase of our jouney which lead us to the Misioneran Jungle. We will leave behind the great Flat Land, walking through the beautiful landscape that the hills offer us with its diverse and colourful vegetation. Several little towns one after the other in our journey will be passed and to get to the Jesuític Ruins of Santa Maria we will stop to visit them. Lunch. At this moment we will find ourselves next to the coasts of the river Uruguay and we will complete our itinerary to Oberá. Lodging in huts and diner.Tenth day, Oberá – Moconá – Puerto Iguazú.
Early in the morning we will part to the town of El Soberbio and the Saltos of Mocona. Lunch. Going through internal ways of the jungle such as the mystic R 21 we will return to civilazation and close to the end of the day we will arrive at our final destination, Puerto Iguazú and their famous Falls. Lodging in Hotel and Dinner.Eighth day, Iguazú Falls.
Free day to walk the Falls and its surroundings. Meeting at night for farewell dinner. Lodging.
